My Inner bi*&%

Sometimes I surprise myself. Last night I went to the movies with some lady friends. I went in early to save the seats, it was really crowded. I needed 4 seats and a place for a baby.(or so i thought)I found 2 above the 1 empty handicap seat (perfect for baby plus 1) I then noticed that the 2 people next to me had a empty seat next to them, so I thought i would just sit there. I wasn't even going to ask them to move over or anything. So I asked the lady"Is that seat taken?" She said" Oh I have my purse on that seat" Now I have no idea where this came from," Oh, did your purse pay $10 for that seat?"(wow did that just come from my mouth) She looked at me and said really Bit&*% like, "you don't have to be rude about it." But she was still not gonna move her purse. So I said " really cuz I think your purse is being rude about it."(ooooooohhhhh)
Even though I was proud of my sassy comments she still didn't move her purse in the REALLY crowded theater. But I had met my sassy quota for the day, so my ladies and I had to find separate seats. The whole time I kept thinking, i would have loved to have gotten a manager to make her move her precious purse. Or dang, I wish Amber or Beth were here, they would really tell her off. But when it comes down to it I'm just too lazy to take it to the next level. What would you have done?

I'm kinda pathetic, huh?

I am so proud of you...I would of offered to hold her purse in my lap.
Or offered to get a manager so she could pay $10.00 for her purse to have a seat.

But the bummer would of been that you would have to sit by that lady all during the entire movie...come to think of it I would of let one of my friends sit there and let them know about the situation after the movie was over :p

hahaha. Wow! Where did that come from? I always wish I had a piece of Beth or Amber in me. I always have to call them for encouragement. I probably wouldn't have said something in the first place. I just usually mouse down and cower away. Not that I'm proud of it, but that's what I do. haha. Now I'm gonna start asking YOU to make phone calls for me.

uh....Got a manager! Thats what I would have done. Or just moved her purse on the floor and sat there anyway! What's she gonna do? fight you?

I would have done the same thing. I too don't know where I get the audacity. But this is my theory: When you have had a few kids, nothing scares you, not even some idiot and her purse child. So what if she yells at you? You have been up all night with a screaming baby before, have poop all over your hands and can still get dinner made. So screw Purse Lady. She and her purse child can go to hell.

Am I right or am I right?

that is honestly one of the funnier things i have read in a long time. where did you come up with that? i would have probably asked if she could move it and if she wouldn't i would have gotten really pissed and then done nothing. if only i had the nerve to say things like that. i can't believe that she didn't move it!

I would have sat on her purse...or thrown it to the bottom of the theater and watched her run for it...then taken that seat, too.

I probably would have jumped her after the movie.
And it's not like she could do anything. It's illegal to hit a pregnant person.
Next time, point her out...
For real....
I'll do it....;)

hahaha i totally laughed outloud when i read this. ugh, people can be so inconsiderate in movie theatres. it's like, hel-LO, this is not your living room. i probably would've mumbled something mean under my breath but then moved on because i wouldn't want to sit next to a crazy purse lady. but seriously, good for you! if i was sitting in a seat nearby watching i would've totally laughed and thought you were awesome!

i love this story. it sounds like something you think of later and wish you would have said.

and i can TOTALLY see my mom saying, "oh, that's okay. I'll just hold it for you." and sitting next to the lady the whole movie!

i was in a packed movie (spiderman 2, i think) when a similar thing happened. there were no 2 seats together in the whole theater except for these 2 seats a couple rows in front of me. well, a woman was saving one of them for her husband who was buying popcorn. a couple came in and the guy started to sit down in the seat. the lady told him that she was saving it for her husband and the guy said, "screw that sh**", and proceeded to sit down anyway. by this point the lady was standing up and yelling at him while trying to push him out of the seat. i think he was about to punch her when his lady friend finally convinced him that they should look someplace else. it was pretty crazy.

Wow Ruth....I love it. What a rude lady. If I were daring enough, it would have been fun to take her purse and just pick it up and set it on the gross theater floor. I'm like you though...I take it to one level, but never seem to break thru and am able to take it all the way : )

Oh well, your comments to her were GREAT!
