Springing forward

I am not a political person. In fact I avoid talking about politics all together.
But I am letting it be known, I will vote for any candidate who gets rid of day light savings.
Why....why is this necessary?
And how did Arizona and Hawaii get out of doing this?

I say we just stay at this time from here on out. Who's with me, let's stop the insanity.

Yes please!!! I have always made all of my friends/family quite aware of my hate for DST... I'm like it dates back to farmers needing light for farming... Move with the times ppl!

AH-men.

I would like to see a politician who made this their main platform...shoot, even a beauty pageant contestant. It has got to stop.

Amen. I have absolutely loved this year with no Daylight Savings time! The huge bummer for us though is that no we are even further behind in time for the Mainland...makes phone calls with Grammy difficult :)

I may be way off on this, but I grew up in AZ in the 1960's and 70's. As I recall, we did have DST then. One year I remember several small children being hit by cars on their way to school while it was still dark because of DST. The people revolted and I do believe the issue was sent to the state legislature to abolish it. You ladies just need to start a grass roots campaign and see what happens!

According to my 7 year old daughter, Ben Franklin invented DST (but not DSL) to help us all out. But that man was up at the crack of dawn anyway, so I don't know what difference it makes.

P.S. and we so love Davy at the Patch house.

I laughed so hard at this post.. Good point. WHY IN THE WORLD IS IT NECESSARY??? Especially if arizona and Hawaii got out of it. It does not make sense!!

I am in Arizona and I LOVE not having to fall behind and spring forward. Not sure how we get out of it but loving it.

I love your blog! Coming out of lurkdom to comment. I live in AZ---so glad we don't have DST. Something to do with our 110deg weather in the summer. Who in their right mind would want more daylight in Arizona's summers??? We want darkness by 8pm, please. :)

My thoughts exactly! My poor 4 year old wet the bed every night for two whole weeks after we changed the clocks! He hadn't done that in ages, and I think the time change totally messed up his biorhythms. He was so disappointed in himself, even though we tried to make him realize that it was no big deal.

Well, I don't know what to say about that. On the one hand I hate it when I have to wake up in the morning earlier because DST, but on the other hand, the best sensation in the world when you wake up and realize you can go back to bed for another hour.
